Yes. Some changes in Google Maps API went into effect back in June or July. You can read about it here.
You still get a $200 credit worth of usage each month. After the $200 your account will be charged per usage. But for most users who have been using Google API so far, the $200 credit should be enough.
You will need to set up a billing account as described in the tutorial mentioned in the previous reply.
Otherwise, you can give a try to the LeafLef and OpenStreetMaps service that I added to the plugin instead of using Google Maps. You can enable it in GEO my WP settings page.
Perfect! All seems to be working fine now I’ve updated the location using both the ACF field both front end and back. Thank you so much for your help on this. Are LeafLef and OpenStreetMaps good / reliable? It’s possible that my client will use the free credit and I’d rather keep it free if I can.
Great, I am glad it is working.
Google Maps is much more accurate and have a larger database of locations. But some users have been successfully using OSM.
For the most part, most users are still using Google Maps without paying for it.
I suggest you keep Google API activate for now and watch for the usage data in the API dashboard. If you see that your client end up paying, you can then give OSM a try.
