MemberHi there,
I am using Toolset with GeomyWP. Here we have a nice ajax taxonomy filter for the about 40 locations: https://www.grabrechner.de/grabkosten-berechnen/
Now we want to go up to 1600 locations. So we definitely need a nearby location search. I implemented this on a working site. You can see a screenshot below. Unfortunately there is no ajax and checkboxes for taxonomies available, only dropdonws. Is it somehow possible to add checkboxes? It seems to be possible here:
http://openpathcollective.org/find-a-clinician/
http://www.coffeecreamthemes.com/themes/jobseek/v2/basic/job-category/engineering/#s=1
How was that implemented?Does the Global Maps Add-On help? I did not find a demo of that.
I would be glad about your help,
thanks

MemberHello Jürgen,
In the first website – http://openpathcollective.org/find-a-clinician/ – looks like that GEO my WP plugin was either replaced with another plugin or that the search form was custom built ( which I believe it is ).
and this site – http://www.coffeecreamthemes.com/themes/jobseek/v2/basic/job-category/engineering/#s=1 – is using another plugin called WP Job Manager and not GEO my WP.
If you want to use GEO my WP plugin, you have a couple of option for having checkboxes instead of dropdown for categories:
1) Using the Premium Settings add-on – using this add-on you can choose between dropdown or checkboxes for categories. However, it does not provide an AJAX powered search forms.2) Using the Global Maps add-on – using the add-on you can create AJAX powered maps and set the categories as checkboxes instead of dropdown. However, at the moment, the search form of the global map will be placed within the boundaries of the map. As well as there is no list of results showing but only markers on the map. That is most likely can be upgraded if custom work is being done. You can see an example of the global map at the top of this page.
And, of course, there is always the option of adding the AJAX and/or checkboxes with custom work.
Let me know if that helps.

MemberHi Eyal,
thanks for you answer. This helps a lot, I did not notice the features of the add-ons before. I bought Premium Settings and my customer also likes it without Ajax.
I have to go deeper into your plugin, it is really great. I just managed to sort the result list by two custom fields 🙂

MemberAwesome, I am glad the add-on worked out for you. And thank you for the purchase.
Let me know if you got any other questions while digging into the plugin :).
