When I select the display thumbnail feature in the admin settings the thumbnail appears at the top of the page in front of the search form and doesn’t display within the results themselves. A very small empty window shows in each result before the first taxonomy is listed, but the actual image doesn’t display. I have tried changing the size of the thumbnail but it doesn’t effect the location. The only thing I can think of is that maybe Geo My WP is having an interaction with my featured image plugin “Default Featured Image”.

I have attached a 2 level screenshot for an example. The top image shows the thumbnail being inserted at the top of the page in-front of the search form. The bottom image shows the very small empty window that gets created within each result right before the first taxonomy is displayed.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Anyone know how to fix this bug?

I have tried disabling all of my plugins to no avail, so this bug does not seem to be caused by a plugin conflict.  I guess it could be a issue with my theme “Vantage” by Appthemes, but I haven’t been able to locate any issues or conflicts in the theme code.

Has no one else experienced this issue?

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hello Squints,
The small box is the element that wraps the image. When there is no image only the wrapper of the image shows which is the small box. That no support to happen. I will need to take a look at that.

Now, if some of your posts do have a featured image but it doesn’t show in the results it could be that the theme that you are using does not use the native WordPress feature image and uses its own feature image. You will need to contact the developers of the theme as ask theme about the featured image.

I was able to re-position the featured image thumbnail so that it displays in the correct position within the loop. If anyone else runs into this issue and needs a solution let me know and I’ll tell you how I did it.
