I’ve a small problem with geo-job-manager-1-2-2. Out of the box, the way Jobify and Job Manager works is it allows Employers to leave the location field empty saying the Job can be done anywhere. When I installed your plugin, that feature is totally gone. Employers can still submit jobs without location, but they won’t show up when I use your search bar with locations on it. How can I get the no-locations/ Anywhere kind of job to show up when using your search bar with location filters on it?

I am not sure how it can be done. Since GEO Job Manager search the database for location. And job that can be done anywhere is basically no location. How would you display an “anywhere”
job within the results when you search for jobs in “New York, New York”? How would you show it on the map if the job has no location?

    I am open to Ideas.

What maybe can be done is when searching for job the results will first display jobs with location based on distance and after that jobs with no location will be displayed.

I understand the basic idea behind this plugin. But having it enabled actually breaks one of the core functionality right. How about making some sort of condition for the lookup such as if location exists then show on map and search result, else just show on search result. This makes sure that both with location and without location items are shown on result but only those that has location shows in map.

Yep, same as I was thinking. I will work on that for the next update of the add-on.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

Thanks for the prompt response. Looking forward for the update.

    Hello Sriram,
I uploaded a new version of the plugin. I realized that in the previous version “Anywhere” jobs were not displaying when searching all locations – means without address submitted. That was fixed and now anywhere jobs will be displayed.
However, they still will not display when submitting a search with address. That is because the search query get more complex specially when trying to order the results when jobs has no location.
If you still want to display anywhere jobs within proximity search results I can probably provide you with a filter that can be used in order to do so.

    Hi Eyal,
Thanks for letting me know. I’ve installed the update and now I can see jobs with Anywhere show up in results if I search for anywhere jobs. This is nice.

With regards to Anywhere job not showing when searching with specific address, i understand the complexity, however, it would be nice to have the filter. The purpose of Anywhere job is irrespective of nay location the user inputs, it should show up.

Thanks once again for great support.

    You are welcome.

Trying the query filter I found out that there is an issues with it. The way I created the filter is wrong and won’t allow me to override the query.
Until I get that fix you could do it by changing one word in the core file.

If you open the file :

and go to line 534 you will see INNER JOIN. Just change it to LEFT JOIN and save the file.

Doing that will display anywhere jobs even when searching by specify address.

Let me know if that helps.

    Hi Eyal,
Thanks for that. I will add your recommendation for the time being.
