Hi, I am trying to do the opposite of this post: http://docs.tempform.wpengine.com/filter-results-by-state/.

I realize that out of the box “Florida” is a lat/long in the center of the state and that a zip code searched on is a lat/long point that has to exist in the distance selected. Is there a way to have a job listing with a location of Florida and then when the user searches for a specific zip code that exist in FL the results would be returned?

    Hello Walter,

Not out of the box ,unfortunately. Because of the main reason ( that you mentioned ) that in database, the lat/long of the center of the stated is being saved. It will probably require to save all the lat/lng that creates the boundaries of the state, and then search within the boundaries. However, I don’t see how this is possible to achieve.

The only solution I can think at the moment is to save the job location to the city or zipcode level at least.
