    Hi,

I would like to import data from mappress. I have used the other plugins importer on the tools tab. This worked for around half my posts (where the mappress maps were manually created). However, a lot of the mappress maps were created automatically via on bulk import so the data is stored as custom fields. Unfortunately only the address is stored as a custom field and not the long / lat (so I’m unable to use the import via custom fields).

Is there a workaround to get the long lat and use the importer? I’m not sure how the long lat is being stored with the maps that were created automatically on the posts.

If I go into the individual post where the map was automatically created and resave the mappress map manually then the “other plugins importer” is able to import the data.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I don’t know where the importer that you used saved the location information for MapPress. But if the imported posts are showing on the map ( in MapPerss ) that means that the coordinates are saved somewhere. That is because a location must have coordinates in order to be displayed on google Map.

Regardless, to geocode and produce coordinates for the addresses saved in your custom field you will need to write a custom script that will grab all the addresses from database, loop through them, geocode them and save the data in database.

I hope that helps a bit.
