    Hi,

Have a business directory created on a multisite using WPMU directory plugin. Where each sub-site is a directory specific to a city.

What I would like to do is as follows:

    1. Show a map with the users current location marked on the map. And also pre-populate the users current location on the search “Where” field.
    2. When the user searches, need to show proximity based results from multiple sites across the network. Currently showing results from multiple site from across the network using the “Post Indexer” and “Global Site Search” to display results.

Please let me know if this is possible out of the box or does it require customization.

    Hello Alagiri,
    1) It is not possible to display a map of the user’s current location at the moment ( not out of the box but possible with a custom script ). You can only display the address using the current location shortcode. However, I added it to the to do list and I will add the feature in one of the coming releases.

“And also pre-populate the users current location on the search “Where” field.” – I am not sure which field you are referring to.

    2) This is also not possible out of the box. This feature requires custom work to make possible.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

I am talking about the “Where” field on the search bar i.e. “What”, “Where” the user wants to search. Let me know if this is possible out of the box.

Sure will use a single site for this use of the proximity based search.
