After importing data and updating using your import/mapping tool, I made changes to specific content on individual CPT listings and it removes the data from being mapped yet leaves the content in the fields. I then make the change and have to import.

I often make specific changes to one or two stores’ content monthly and having to import to remap is going to be annoying especially for 500+ stores and growing.

I do see the address below the map. Did you get it right?
Make sure you update the post after hitting the “Get Address” button.

GEO my WP requires at least the full address, latitude and longitude for minimal functionality. Testing the back-end I see that it also requires the formatted_address otherwise the fields will be removed when saving the post. I will get that fixed in the coming version.

A bit about GEO my WP database:
When adding location using GEO my WP all the address fields being provided by the plugin( after geocoding the location ) and saved in database.
    1) Street, city, state, state long name, zipcode, country, country long name are there to make the plugin more flexiable. Using these fields you can display any of the address fields. For example for privacy purposes you can display only the zipcode of a post or city, state and so on. With these fields provided you can also perform a search query based on any of the fields. For example displaying all locations with zipcode 33311 or only locations within the US.

    2) The address field holds the address the way the user enters it once adding a location which creates inconsistency when displaying the locations. Most times the address entered will be missing the commas and could have the state or country in either long or short name.

    3) formatted_address is the address return from google after geocoding which usually forms in certain way with comma where needed, state short name and country short name.
GEO my WP’s functions usually look for the formatted_address field and if found it will be displayed. if it doesn’t exist the address field will be displayed instead.

    4) Latitude and longitude are the most important fields. Without them the search queries cannot be performed and the locations cannot be displayed on the map.

That’s really great info. I don’t want to reimport 500 items nor manually enter 500 items, but perhaps I will to make this work right now that I know how to. Thanks.

    You are welcome.
You could run a short script that will grabs all the rows from GEO my WP database loop through them and combine the different address fields street, city, state, zipcode and country and add them as an address field to both address and formatted_address field.
It shouldn’t be too difficult. I could help you with that.

Try the script below ( better first test it on staging area ):
    1) Add it to the functions.php file of your theme.
    2) Save the file
    3) Refresh any page of your site so the script will be executed
    4) markout the last line of the script ( add_action( ‘init’, ‘gmw_create_address_fields_in_db’ );) to prevent it from running again.
    5) Check the database to see it it worked.

I pasted that into the code into my functions file, emptied my CDN’s cache etc and it’s not working. It doesn’t seem to populate the fields.
