    Hi,

I just purchased all of your plugins, and I am not having success with the user search. Even though i have a number of users with address information on their profiles, The search form comes back with ‘No Results’

I see that the plugin was supposed to come with a front end location updater, but i cannot find the shortcode for that widget.

Can you please provide a complete list of GEO my WP shortcodes? It seems as thought the online knowledge base is fragmented and incomplete.

    Thank you!

Thank you for the kind purchase Ryan.

For users to show up in search results they must enter thier location using the Location form provided by the plugin.

To display the location for you can use the shortcode [gmw_user_location_form].

More of GEO my WP shortcodes you can find in:
    1) dashoboard -> GEO my WP -> shortcodes.
    2) Current Location shortcode
    3) Single Location shortcode.
4)[gmw_user_info] – display address information of a user.
    5) [gmw_ug_get_user_location] – Display map and location information of a user.

The docs are indeed missing lot of information but it is a work in a prograss.

You can however post any question you might have in this forum.

    Thnank you.

    Fantastic!

Ok… so I used this shortcode, and it seems to work, but regardless of what account i test it on, I am getting a “There was a problem saving your location” error message.

    Any thoughts on this?

One reason could be that the members database table was not created.

Please navigate to the dashboard -> GEO my WP -> Add-ons and activate the Members Locator add-on. Once the page loaded and the add-on was activated you can deactivate it. Then try again to save the a user’s location.

Let me know if that help.

    Thanks

    Perfect. Thank you.

    Next Questions:

    1. Can you tell me how to get the [gmw_user_location_form] to display at different widths? Right now its displaying across an entire page, and it is moving all other content below itself. I have attached a picture to show this.

    2. Can you tell me how to add an input field for the search form to specifically search for a custom user data base field? Ie. We have a number of different types of users, that also can be in different user classes/roles. I would like to be able to search for a ‘handyman’ in this ‘zipcode’ for instance…

    Thank you!!!

    HI Ryan,

Can you tell me how to get the [gmw_user_location_form] to display at different widths? Right now its displaying across an entire page, and it is moving all other content below itself. I have attached a picture to show this.

At the moment the only way to control the width of the form is by adding custom CSS. However, I will add the option to set the width of the form using shortcode attribute in the next version of the plugin.

At the moment you will need to manually add the HTML fields to the search form and to filter the WP Users query based on those field’s values on form submission.
You will need to know some PHP/MYSQL and how to use WordPress filter in order to acomplish that.

I already have this request on the todo list of the add-on but this feature is a bit complex so I am not sure how long it will take to acomplish.
