I am using a ‘global map posts’ in which I have markers for reviews of locations. I would like to show the comments in the marker pop up window.

    Settings:

pop up window, left-white, excerpt=yes (no word count)

on the KLEO theme. What code should I add?

    Thanks.

    Hi Jaap,
You can try the script below ( place it in the functions.php file of the theme.

The script will use the action hook “gmaps_iw_tempalte_end” to try and display the comments template at the bottom of the Pop-up window.

let me know if that helps.

    Hi Eyal,

I made a child theme and added the code to functions.php in the editor but no comments show up yet.

I’ve configured the window so that google maps can be queried for directions at the bottom of the window.

There is only one post with a comment currently, so if you want to check it on the site you will have to use the global map on the homepage http://www.freedivewire.com and then search for nanaimo, bc and click on the marker close to that. The post is called freedivewire.com/freediving-neck-point/

    Hi Jaap,
I took a look at the global Map of your site but the popup window won’t open. I do see a JavaScript error in the console. Are you aware of this issue?

Anyway, I tested the code I posted above using the Kleo theme and it is working fine on my development site. So I am not sure why it won’t work on your site.

    Try the script below:

This script should get the list of comments and display them using a loop. If it is working you will need to apply some custom styling to it.

Here you can see the list of fields that returned when using get_comments(). So you could display any of these fields in the comments loop.

Let me know if that helps.

    Hi Eyal,

I am not sure what kind of error you imply. I can open the popup window on the PC with Windows Explorer and Firefox, and on an android phone with google chrome, and on safari and google for an Iphone.

If you have another device and it’s not working please let me know.

Thanks for the alternative fix, I’ll check if I can get the comments to display and will get back to you.

Ouch, well that didn’t work. After putting the code in my functions.php I only got a white screen on both the wp-admin and the normal page. I’m not sure why but that code whacked my site out of business. I reverted back to the parent theme by renaming my active kleo-child theme via ftp and have remade a functional kid.

Looks like the error I was referring to is gone. Probably was something temporary.

at the script above it looks like all the <?php change to <? php ( space added ). Make sure there is no space in the <?php tags and try again.

If you still get a white screen please set WP_DEBUG to true ( in wp-config.php ) and look for any error message with the white screen.

    Hi Jaap,
Have you try the solution above?
