    I think that’s the best approach too. Many thanks again for your support – it is really really appreciated!

    Perfect! All seems to be working fine now I’ve updated the location using both the ACF field both front end and back. Thank you so much for your help on this. Are LeafLef and OpenStreetMaps good / reliable? It’s possible that my client will use the free credit and I’d rather keep it free if I can.

    Hi Eyal.

    I’m sorry I missed that step, but I’ve activated the GEO services on the server side project – it is in a different project – and it still doesn’t seem to work. Can you try again?

    Hi Eyal.

    Is this supposed to print the data to the screen? I changed the file to this:

    // Get endpoint URL.
    $url = implode( ”, $this->get_endpoint_url() );

    // try geocoding
    $result = wp_remote_get( $url );

    // return results

    Nothing appears on the screen. I enabled WordPress debug mode and no errors come up related to the GEO either.

    Hi Eyal.

    Thank you so much for your help, but sadly this doesn’t resolve the issue. I have created the server side key and added it directly to the plugin and it doesn’t resolve the issue. The function does fire, but no address is saved to the GEO field.

    Is there anything else we can try? Would this problem also occur if I reverted the plugin back to the older version? It sounds like Google is the problem.

    Many thanks,

    Hi Eyal,

    I think there is a mix up, or I didn’t explain correctly. Basically I had your function setup so that when someone submitted an ACf form it would update the location of the post. But it was using the older version of your plugin. I’ve since updated and can see that a lot has changed in the plugin. You no longer use this:

    The function gmw_pt_update_location() does not exist here anymore.
    The function is deprecated and replaced with gmw_update_post_location() which can be found in geo-my-wp/plugins/posts-locator/includes/gmw-posts-locator-functions.php

    I looked at the new file and it seems the function has changed, so I tried to update my code, below, and it doesn’t seem to work / fire:

    Is there something I’m missing here?

    Hi Eyal.

    I did have this acf google map to GEo my WP working based on your example:

    However, I see with the latest update it no longer works. I was hoping you would be able to give me a little guidance on how to make it work with the V3. I basically use an ACF map which stores the full addresss, lat and long. The old function just added the address to the geo field, but there is no documentation on how to do this for V3 yet that I can see.

    Many thanks,

    in reply to: Custom Search Filter :: Search integer range #55905

    Hi Eyal.

    Thank you for coming back to me. With the salary range it would be saved in two custom fields (advanced custom fields). One for the minimum the salary would be, and one for the maximum it would be. At present we have a range set by a taxonomy so it appears in the search form, but the way the import would work means we can’t do this as it needs to go into two custom fields. While WP All Import will import in to these two custom fields, I’m not sure on where to start with adding it to the GEO form. I did think perhaps we could still keep the salary range taxonomy and then compare the min and max fields to the taxonomy to then show the results. Do you have any suggestions on how it could work with your plugin?

    With WP All Import this is a sample of what they are looking to import :

    You will see that the location seems to be just the city (under classifications). I’ve had a quick look to see if when an export runs there are any fields for the geo data but can’t initially see the fields I would map to. I can create a custom field for city to store this information – but would need to be able to synch it with the geo field. Would the plugin work if we just imported the city name?

    Many thanks for your help.

    in reply to: Show all pins on the map from a post type #32060

    Hi Eyal.

    What I mean is:

    1. User visits the page with the global map. Currently this page just shows the map on the left and the form on the right. What I want to achieve is to have the page so that when there is a visitor, it shows the global map on the left, form on the right, and underneath, show a list of posts BEFORE they click submit on the GEO locate form. It doesn’t matter what order the posts are in, just that they show.

    Then when the visitor uses the form to geolocate, I want the posts to show distance first. So effectively there is never a blank screen. There are always results / posts showing, but the submit button makes them appear in order of distance first.

    I was hoping that this would be something relatively easy to achieve.

    Thanks again for you help.

    Best regards,

    That’s great, thank you.

    One final one just to make things a little more complicated! With the global map, is it possible to have the map, and a list of non Geo results under it, that become GEO located when you click to locate?

    Effectively the locate button sumbission would order the posts closest first, but all results would show before this in a random order.

    Many thanks,

    Hi Phil.

    When I open a form I see a menu item called map. I can alter all the settings and what is visible on there. I do have the premium settings addon though. So I’m not sure if this is in the free one. I do recommend the premium settings addon. There are lots of handy extras in there.

    Best Regards,
